Shared Moments - Reconnecting Through Experience

When we arranged a peer support group visit to a stately home garden, the goal was simple: to create a shared experience beyond the everyday. Each person brought a loved one, and together they explored the gardens, delighting in cherry blossom and conversation that flowed naturally.

What stood out most wasn’t the grandeur of the surroundings, but the shift in relationships. Partners walked side by side - not as carer and cared-for, but as equals, sharing discoveries and laughter.

These moments of mutual experience can be deeply restorative, reminding couples that connection can still flourish, even as dementia changes the landscape of their lives.

Creating shared, meaningful experiences is at the heart of my dementia support work. Find out more.

  • For families: small shared experiences - a walk, a meal, a song - can bring back connection and joy. I offer sessions to help families rediscover these moments together.

  • For organisations: I provide tailored training to help staff create more inclusive, relationship-centred activities and visits.
