Bespoke Sessions: Shaping Dementia Learning Together

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is collaborating with organisations to create bespoke sessions - training and learning experiences that are truly tailored to the people who will take part.

Each organisation has its own strengths, culture, and priorities, so it makes sense that “one size fits all” training rarely hits the mark. Whether it’s a webinar, a workshop, or an interactive session, I love working alongside teams to design something that feels relevant, practical, and inspiring.

Over the past year, I’ve had the privilege of developing and delivering a range of bespoke sessions, including:

A webinar for The Therapeutic Forest CIC – exploring how outdoor and nature-based approaches can support motor skills and movement in Green Dementia Care. It was a joy to connect research, creativity, and lived experience in such a beautiful, nature-focused context.

Relatives’ sessions in care homes – supporting families to understand dementia, enhance communication, and feel more confident in their connection with loved ones. These sessions often open up heartfelt conversations and help build stronger relationships between relatives and care teams.

Volunteer webinars for Time to Talk Befriending and Linking Lives Eastbourne – offering practical insight and confidence-building tools for those who provide social connection and emotional support to people living with dementia.

A “Living Well with Dementia” session for a Brighton and Sussex Medical School research event, focusing on strengths-based, person-centred approaches to living well and challenging assumptions about what’s possible.

Each session has been unique - shaped by the organisation’s goals, the audience’s experience, and our shared commitment to improving understanding and support for people living with dementia.

Designing and delivering these bespoke sessions has been thoroughly enjoyable and deeply meaningful. If your organisation would like to collaborate on a tailored session - whether for professionals, volunteers, families, or community groups - I’d love to have a conversation.

Let’s work together to create something that fits your people and your purpose.
